What is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
A CSA is a unique social and economic arrangement between you and your local farmer.
A CSA provides an opportunity for its members to be able to enjoy locally grown foods while sharing some of the risk with the farmer. In addition, members learn about eating seasonally, a joy sometimes lost in the modern world. By eating seasonally, you have the freshest food possible, while minimizing transportation and storage costs.
The effect is that your food is grown and delivered to you using a minimum of non-renewable resources. All farmers use sustainable and organic techniques that prohibit the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers and they work within the existing eco-system.
